Brighter LEDs

Science Daily had this story on how researchers at the University of Glasgow are increasing the brightness of LEDs. It was posted online back in January, but I just found it, as my fascination with LED lighting is constantly growing. I just hope the three year projection of consumer availability is overly conservative. Want now.

A Spring Clean-up post mortum

Whew! - the first part of the clean-up season is finally over. Bear helped out 12 different clean-up events from April 12 through May 31. Nearly all events were done in partnership with GWI. Totals for all events:

• 54,342 lbs (27.171 tons) of e-waste collected including:
• 384 monitors
• 311 televisions

Thanks to all the other organizers and volunteers that helped to make each event successful and fun.

Update: One more (HUGE) event wrapped up on June 14 adding:

• 45,286 lbs (22.59 tons) of e-waste collected including:
• 281 monitors
• 185 televisions
